Children and Contact Lenses

Children at school, or up to 18 years old in Full Time Education

There is no set minimum age to wearing lenses although when discussing whether a child should be considered for contact lenses there are three factors that have to be taken into account:

The size and type of correction needed.
The strength of the child's motivation - a keen parent is not enough!
Most importantly, the child's ability to care for the lenses properly.

The NHS voucher may be used towards the cost of lenses - the sum allowed is dependant on the strength of prescription.
