Even standard glass lenses show a significant thickness saving for this particular prescription. However the glass is nearly double the weight of the plastic! Fortunately there are a number of manufacturers of high-index plastic lenses. These still give the thickness saving, but without the additional weight penalty.

 

'Cutting through' the lenses helps to show which lens option will provide the best cosmetic effect for the particular frame shape.
